Back in Texas with the Pete!
She did outstanding the whole way. We had a fuel line to the fuel pressure gauge pop and leak diesel inside the cab floor. Lucky we had a spare line in the cab that was the same size and we’re back on the road in 15 mins. No issues at all otherwise! This is going to be a great truck for us!

How do you run an
excavator? I've seen many different ways how people
use the controls from there hands at the very top,
holding them tight, down low, ect... I was always taught
the lower you hold them the less leverage you have to
move them unintentionally when the machine moves.
Also just like anything else I've done that takes finesse
whether it's riding horses to flying an airplane I've
always been taught to use just your finger tips for a
light touch. I feel it helps me tremendously in running
anything.

Cleaning the edges of a ravine with the 299D3 and the BR320 brush hog. This attachment is really fast at clearing small stuff up to 3” in diameter. It leaves a pretty nice finish when done as well. It’s definitely a fun attachment to run.

One of todays tasks is to go around the site a clean up the mess that the concrete sub left everywhere. There are some big dingleberries they left. We will get this cleaned up to haul base tomorrow for our final lift. I also left my lunch box in the blade last Friday so I get to use my kids today 😂😂

This Cat 299D3 with a Cat HM416 mulching head (rebranded FAE) is an absolute beast. 1.5 hrs of mulching 6” pines to make an easement for a new power service and it did it like they weren’t there. I’m truly impressed! Thank you @holt_cat for getting me set up with this unit!

Wrapped up this one ready for paving in Uhland #texas today. We finished 217,320 sqft. in two days and they will be making it black tomorrow. Next week we will back up all the asphalt edges and balance out a few pads and it should be a wrap! This was definitely a fun one to do!

This is the property we will be building on in Tex

This is the property we will be building on in Texas. Two weeks ago my dad drove out and we punched the road in and cut a pad for the shop to be built. It doesn’t look like much but we had to run the road the a ravine you can see in a couple of the pictures. It took about 1300 yards of fill from the pad where the shop is going. We still have to do some clean up of the shoulders of the road further up but this was the main goal so we could get concrete trucks up to the pad. There is still a ton of work left to be done but we well get it. I’m excited to work and live by my dad and brother here and see the cool stuff we can build and do together. #schiedeckconstruction #texas #grading #roadwork

•cut out front slope of ditch
•pull backslope of ditch using the rear tire to compact the flow-line
•blend trimmings to look good
